About the 2026 Mega MeetingThe Peace Begins at Home – International Mega Meeting is designed to mobilize peace advocates, families, community and faith leaders, multicultural associations, Rotary leaders and members, civil society organizations, and global changemakers. The meeting reinforces a vital truth:
Sustainable global peace is built through daily actions, shared values, and strong relationships — beginning at home.
Today, rising violence, armed conflicts, family violence and abuse, and increasing youth gang and community-related violence globally highlight the urgent need to strengthen social cohesion, youth belonging, and family-level prevention. While policing and security responses remain essential, lasting peace depends on preventive, community-led approaches that foster positive identity, inclusion, and resilience — particularly among young people and families vulnerable to alienation and peer-driven violence.Moments like these remind us that peace cannot be taken for granted.
They call us to renew our commitment to grassroots peacebuilding — starting within families and communities, where values are shaped and belonging is nurtured. Why Peace Begins at Home MattersSustainable peace starts locally. Many wider conflicts are rooted in:
Broken relationships
Intolerance and exclusion
Violence within homes and communities
Through this Mega Meeting, we aim to:
Shift peace-building from theory to daily practice
Empower individuals and families as first peace actors
Strengthen community cohesion across cultures and generations
With Australia as the first international host country, the meeting is designed to mobilize Rotarians and partners to complement government efforts in building a culture of peace — reinforcing the understanding that lasting global peace is built through daily actions, shared values, and strong relationships, starting at home and within our communities.

🌟 Why It Matters for Rotary, Rotaract & Peacebuilders
The International Day of Peace is more than a date — it is a global call to action. For Rotary Clubs, Rotaract Clubs, and peace advocates, this Mega Meeting is both a responsibility and an opportunity:
-
Living Rotary’s Core Values – Peace is at the heart of Rotary’s mission.
-
Youth as Changemakers – Rotaractors bring energy, creativity, and sustainability to peacebuilding.
-
Global Connection & Collaboration – A rare platform to share ideas and best practices across continents.
-
Amplifying Voices for Peace – Local voices gain a global stage.
-
Commemorating with Action – Moving beyond symbolism to real, practical steps toward peace.
📌 Looking Back – 2024 Project:
Last year, our physical project From Conflict to Resolution featured a Novelty Peace Match uniting once rival youth groups, leaders, and community members. Through teamwork, fair play, respect, humility, sportsmanship, and friendship, they played football and made peace.
📌 Looking Ahead – 2025 Focus:
This year, we bring Rotarians, Peacebuilders, and community leaders together to play a part and have a voice in global peacebuilding.

Dear Rotary Leaders, Club Presidents (Past, Present and Incoming),
Rotarians, Peace Builders, and Rotary Mega Meeting Ambassadors,
I want to thank you so much for sharing the last Rotary year with us on the Rotary Districts and Clubs Joint Online International Mega Meeting Platform (The Rotary Mega Meeting). Welcome back, and thank you for joining us at the Rotary Peace Park during the Rotary International Convention 2025 🎙️ Live Podcast & Interview Series.
I am proud to have had the opportunity to share this space with you over the past year. It has been a rewarding and meaningful experience bringing together Rotary International leaders, District Governors, RI Representatives to the United Nations and Commonwealth Nations, Club Presidents, Rotarians, Friends of Rotary, Peace Builders, Partners, Special Representatives, leaders of Civil Society and Humanitarian Organizations, Community Leaders, Global Peace Ambassadors, Peace and Justice Activists, Humanitarians, Change Makers, Social Workers, and Human Rights Advocates from over 85 countries.
I am pleased to announce that our platform has grown rapidly, uniting hundreds of thousands of people from diverse organizations and countries. To reflect this broader mission—and out of fairness to those who are not Rotarians—we will now call it the International Online Mega Meeting. We will continue to bring Rotarians and Peace Builders together to Unite for Good, promoting goodwill and better friendships, building a culture of peace, and creating lasting impact in our communities and around the world.
Please allow me to thank the extraordinary people who have supported me, making this past Rotary year so meaningful. These exceptional individuals truly brought out the magic of Rotary and demonstrated the power of making a positive difference in my life and for many others worldwide. It has been a full year of people, places, moments, memories, and an international mega meeting that brought the world together on one platform.
First and foremost, I want to give special thanks to my wonderful family and loving wife, IPP. Valere Onome Ozuem, Immediate Past President (CP) of Rotary E-Club of Peace D1926, and my two beautiful daughters, Joan and Jessica (JJ). Without their love and support, I would not have been able to carry on this long.
PRIP. Stephanie A. Urchick, Immediate Past Rotary International President (2024–25)—thank you for joining our meetings and for your tremendous support over the years. You have always reminded me that we can bring out the magic in people if we simply give them a chance and a sense of belonging. 📺 Watch the Mega Meeting Introduction by President Stephanie A. Urchick during the Rotary/Carter Collaboration
RIVP. Pat Merryweather-Arges, Past Rotary International Board Vice President (2023–24) and Director (2022–24)—you are not only a mentor but an inspiration to me and to thousands of Rotarians and Peace Builders around the world. Thank you for your excellent leadership and for being a true changemaker.
Arthur Kanegis and Melanie Bennett—thank you, my friends, partners, and Co-host of the Mega Meeting member of the Rotary E-Club of World Peace USA, for your steadfast support. You are truly amazing and inspiring, giving hope and dignity to those in need. The world can indeed be our country if we unite to build a culture of peace, friendship, and unity. 👉 Learn more about “Rotary and The World is My Country”
My Club—I would also like to thank my Club President, board, and all members of the Rotary Club of Sapele GRA D9141 for their unwavering support and encouragement. We are not just a club; we are friends and family who let love lead.
Dorothy Gilmour (Mama D!), Immediate Past President of the Rotary Club of Hawthorn D9800 and Founder/Co-Chair of Rotary SAFE Families—thank you for being an exceptional leader and changemaker. Your advocacy to Stop Abuse of Families Everywhere inspires thousands to take responsibility for keeping families and the elderly safe. My own story would not be complete without mentioning your invaluable support, encouragement, and assistance. We will continue to stand with you in your important advocacy.
Most importantly, I want to thank all of you—every member of our platform—for your support and for attending our webinars.
