The Art for Peace project empowers children to become young peace builders by expressing their understanding of peace, unity, and harmony through creative art.
This project aims to:

Provide a platform for students to express their ideas, feelings, and values about peace

🌟 Why is this project important?
This project gives children a voice to express what peace, unity, inclusion, family, community, and environmental care mean to them.
It helps schools and Rotary clubs nurture values-based learning, creativity, intercultural understanding, and community engagement while recognising students as Young Peace Builders.
1) What is ART FOR PEACE?
ART FOR PEACE is an international art and colouring project for Years 5 and 6 students that empowers children to express messages of peace through creative art.
2) How long has the project been running?
This is the first year of the project.
It runs until 21 September 2026, when winners are announced on the International Day of Peace.
Winners will be announced by a Rotary International President.
3) Who can participate?
Years 5 and 6 primary school students from Australia and around the world.

The official artwork template will be sent to all registered schools/clubs on 16 May 2026, the International Day of Living Together in Peace.
4) What are the two artworks each
student must submit?
Each student must submit:

One Colouring Artwork (official template), and
-
One Original Drawing Artwork (A4 paper)
Submitting only one artwork will not be accepted.
5) What themes can students choose for the original drawing?
Choose one:

6) What materials can be used?
Pencils, crayons, markers, or paint. Artwork must be in colour.
7) Can parents or teachers help the child?
No. Adult assistance will lead to disqualification.
8) Can students use AI, tracing, or copy from the internet?
No. Artwork must be 100% original and created only by the child.
9) Is a consent form required?
Yes. A Parent/Guardian Consent Declaration must be submitted with the artwork.
10) How should the artwork be submitted?

11) What is the submission deadline?
All entries must be received by 10 August 2026.
12) What happens after submission?
Shortlisting and judging take place. Winners are announced on the International Day of Peace.

14) Cost of prizes — who pays?
There is no cost to participating clubs or schools.
Prizes are personally donated by PP. Ozuem O. Esiri, Global Peace Ambassador.

21) Can schools submit multiple students together?
Yes, provided each student includes their individual consent form.
22) What message must appear under the artwork?
A one-sentence peace message in English (native language optional).
23) Is artistic perfection required to win?
No. Creativity, originality, and understanding of peace matter most.
24) Why must students submit both artworks?
To combine:

Personal creative expression (original drawing)
25) Is there a cost to participate?
No. Participation is free.
26) Who is organising this project?
This project is delivered through peacebuilding collaboration involving Rotary clubs, peace partners, and the Rotary Mega Meeting network to inspire young peace builders through art.
